Weeds in your Life
Weeds are pesky plants that can be detrimental to the overall health of your lawn. And without proper care, certain species can aggressively overtake your landscape in a matter of weeks.
Have situations at work ever felt like a weed; invading your space causing frustration, discomfort, and stress.
This week I had a few weeds sprout up and before they got out of control, I put these three principles into action:
Judgement: Proactively think about the outcomes when faced with difficult situations. This will help balance your emotions ensuring you make objective decisions.
Focus: Use the “rule of three” to prioritize your daily tasks. What are the top 3 items that deserve your attention now, this week, or this month. This will help declutter your life reducing that overwhelming feeling.
Communication: Learn to be candid, tactful, and influential in how you communicate with others. If priorities change, you need help, or if conflicts arise, use your words as a tool to help reduce confusion.
Just as weeds can get out of hand if not controlled, the same applies to situations in our life. Learn how to use proper judgement, focus, and effective communication to control the weeds in your life.
